My Story

Welcome to my real life blog where I share with you my personal journey of overcoming grief, abuse, trauma, navigating a narcissistic marriage, and raising a special needs child. This will be a place I go to vent and try to find perspective on what's happened in my life and how I am coping, still trying to make it to the other side. We find incredible strength when we are at our lowest so please know you are not alone. I hope some of my experiences help others going through their own pain and am grateful for the opportunity to share my experiences and insights with my readers.

Grief & Healing

After extreme trauma 3 years ago I decided to start a blog with the intention of self healing to cope with the pain in my life. I thought I would be in a better place by now, but darkness still looms over my family. I'm hoping through this blog to find answers to my own questions of 'why' and bring peace to myself and my family.

Raising a Special Needs Child

There isn't a manual given when you give birth to a special needs child. Especially when it's time to bring him home from the hospital. How do we take care of this child? In this blog, I will share Matthew's story about what we went through and what he taught us. I hope Matthew's story will help other special needs parents to know they are not alone.

Abuse & Narcissism

How long does it take for a person to realize their whole life they were married to a narcissist? Years! We become so used to our life, our partner, it's not always that obvious. I hope my journey will help someone sooner than later to recognize the signs and so they can prioritize their own well-being.

Relationships

Raising four children is challenging enough, but raising siblings of a special needs brother is an entirely different experience. It teaches empathy and compassion but comes at a price. I hope my insights and experiences can help others raising special needs siblings.

Advocacy

I've always understood how to advocate for myself or others, but raising Matthew taught me the absolute necessity in advocating for him, his siblings and myself everyday in all situations. I hope it will help others find their voice to be empowered to make positive changes.
